In an official report published on the website INDECT it was learned a while ago from a project called INSIGMA, which appears to have been initiated, also related to project INDECT. But apart from his name and a few not very informative detail was not exactly the Project announced.

It was only mentioned that both INDECT INSIGMA including members of the MCSS Conference on 6 and 7 May 2010 had taken part, and that this INDECT International Conference on Multimedia Communications, Services & Security of Department of Telecommunications was organized. This was supposedly an academic forum on the research and development work on multimedia communications and Sicherheitss were presented ystems. See below for more.
Two INDECT Deliverables [2] is INSIGMA called by name even in a few places and in a Telepolis article [3] was mentioned that the project manager of INSIGMA Professor Andrzej Dziech would therefore be the same person who also directs INDECT. One, two employees of the project INDECT have also briefly mentioned publicly [4] , but otherwise silence prevailed at INSIGMA. Offensichtlich wollte man damit, jedenfalls der Namensgebung nach, dem Total Information Awareness Programm der USA Konkurrenz machen.
Aber einmal ernsthaft: Wer überlegt sich für ein aus öffentlicher Hand finanziertes Projekt denn einen solchen Namen? Da ist es nicht weiter verwunderlich, dass das Projekt bis vor kurzem völlig abseits der Öffentlichkeit im geheimen lief. Welcher Steuerzahler würde schon freiwillig ein Projekt der EU mitfinanzieren das solch einen Namen trägt – noch dazu, wenn man weiß, dass die Hauptbeteiligen daran military institutions?
