you surf the Internet without any problems? No banned sites? This is not the case with anyone. The Internet censorship wächst weiter und bekommt mehr Aufmerksamkeit. Verbotene Internetseiten sind keine Besonderheit mehr.

Hunderte von Leuten ziehen über den Platz des himmlischen Friedens und demonstrieren für die Wortfreiheit. Banner sind aufgespannt und man hört die Rufe der Leute.
Der Clou an dieser Sache ist, dass diese Demonstrationen nur online stattfinden. Die Vereinigung der ROG (Reporter ohne Grenzen) initiierte diese Demonstrationen unter der Schirmherrschaft der UNESCO am 12. März 2008. Dieser Tag hat eine große Bedeutung, denn er ist der Wortfreiheitstag. Virtuell konnte man sich eine Figur erstellen und damit demonstrieren. Diese Demonstrationen fanden z.B. auf einem virtuellen Platz des himmlischen Friedens oder der kubanischen Revolution statt. Insgesamt waren ungefähr 40.000 Menschen in diesen Demonstrationen involviert.

China sammelt negative Eindrücke

Diese Demonstrationen hatten vor allem in China große Auswirkungen. Seit diesem Tag werden keine ausländischen Journalisten mehr ins Land gelassen. China versprach unter anderem, dass es die Menschenrechtslage verbessern und demokratisch handeln würde. Doch auch dieses Versprechen haben sie nicht eingehalten. Somit hat China schon zwei Olympia-Versprechen gebrochen.

Das wirft kein gutes Licht auf die Olympischen Spiele 2008, die in China stattfinden werden.
In Bezug auf die Pressefreiheit bezieht China auf der Welt zudem eine ganz besondere Stellung. The RWB has published a ranking that compares the situation of media freedom in 169 countries.
